Poetry Wildlife Park

Today we wrote some brilliant poems for our new poetry unit on Shape poems. I think you will agree that they are very descriptive!

The Crane

Feathery elegant wings

Gliding across the frozen ice

like ice skaters skating in the sun

Tall thin legs and long neck

Flapping it's wings above in the sky

drinking the fresh water

by the river under the sparking sunlight

By Karen

The Bull

Terrible razor sharp horns

dashing through open fields

like a speeding bullet

Deadly, mighty legs

Attacking fiercely

Butting animals

In the dangerous wild

by Mateo

The Poison Dart Frog

Huge, Dark eyes and a bright body

Hopping between the enormous Amazon forest

as miniscule as a field mouse

Dainty body and tiny legs

Leaping nervously through the forest

Searching for food

Amongst the tough green surface

By Maximo

The Arctic Fox

Popped up ears, itsy bitsy paws

Running swiftly through the snow

like the wind blowing some sugar

Trembling tongue

almond shaped hungry eyes

searching for prey in the endless arctic

as freezing as an iceberg

By Maya

The Polar Bear

Fluffy soft fur

Strolling on freezing ice

like a giant walking on a cloud

Pointy black ears

Slowly, gently moving

Hunting for fish

in the deep blue sea

By Leila
